Test Drive a New Alfa Romeo near Bridgeport, CT

A test drive should change something. Not just confirm that a car accelerates or stops, but shift your understanding of what driving can feel like. That shift is exactly what Alfa Romeo has delivered consistently for over a century, and it is what brings buyers from across Fairfield County to make the drive to Alfa Romeo of Greenwich. For Bridgeport-area car shoppers who have been curious about the Alfa Romeo lineup, this guide covers what the current models actually offer so that when you arrive, the test drive answers the right questions rather than the obvious ones.

Alfa Romeo of Greenwich at 338 West Putnam Avenue maintains over 50 new Alfa Romeos in stock at any given time, spanning every current model in the lineup. It is part of the Miller Motorcars group and the only authorized Alfa Romeo dealer in Connecticut within easy reach of Bridgeport. The dealership is roughly 25 miles southwest of Bridgeport via I-95.

Pick Your Starting Point: Which Model Fits Your Brief

The current Alfa Romeo lineup covers four genuinely different vehicle types, and walking in without a preference wastes the test drive. A few minutes spent matching your usage to the right model produces a far more useful experience on the road.

Giulia: The Rear-Wheel-Drive Sport Sedan

The Giulia is Alfa Romeo making an argument about what a sport sedan should be. Every trim rides on a rear-wheel-drive layout with a carbon fiber driveshaft as standard equipment. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder produces 280 horsepower across the Ti, Veloce, and Estrema variants. At Alfa Romeo of Greenwich, a new 2025 Giulia Intensa in Alfa Rosso is in stock. The Veloce trim adds adaptive suspension and a sport exhaust. If you are coming from a BMW 3 Series or Mercedes C-Class and want to understand what makes the Giulia feel different on a familiar road, this is the test drive that answers that question most directly. The Giulia model page covers trim details and current available specifications.

Giulia Quadrifoglio: When the Standard Giulia Is Not Enough

The Quadrifoglio sits above the standard Giulia lineup and uses a completely different engine: a 2.9-liter bi-turbo V6 developed in collaboration with Ferrari engineers producing 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque between 2,500 and 5,500 rpm. The 0-60 mph time is 3.8 seconds and top speed reaches 191 mph. Alfa Romeo of Greenwich carries the Giulia Quadrifoglio with a near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution and a rear-wheel-drive layout that, combined with the DNA Pro drive mode system including a Race mode, makes it the fastest four-door production vehicle ever tested at the Nurburgring at 7:39. Current new Quadrifoglio inventory is available through the Giulia Quadrifoglio model page

Stelvio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio: Italian SUV Without Compromise

The Stelvio brings the Giulia platform into an SUV body without changing what makes the Giulia interesting. The standard Q4 all-wheel-drive system, rear-biased in its power split, keeps the Stelvio feeling like a driver’s car rather than a crossover that happens to be fast. Current inventory at Alfa Romeo of Greenwich includes multiple Stelvio Quadrifoglio examples. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio uses the same 505-horsepower bi-turbo V6 as the Giulia Quadrifoglio, which means the SUV test drive is not a consolation version of the sedan. Compare the Stelvio Quadrifoglio against BMW X3 M, Porsche Macan GTS, and AMG GLC 63 on the dealership comparison page.

Tonale: The Practical Entry Point with a PHEV Option

The Tonale is the most accessible model in the current lineup, designed for buyers who want Italian character in a compact SUV format suitable for everyday Bridgeport-area driving including Merritt Parkway commutes and weekend trips to the shoreline. A Tonale Veloce in Verde Fangio Metallic with 10,169 miles is available, and the current new Tonale inventory includes the Veloce trim with a 10.25-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and voice-operated assistance. The plug-in hybrid powertrain option makes the Tonale particularly relevant for buyers who want to reduce fuel costs without leaving the Italian marque. Visit the Tonale listing at Alfa Romeo of Greenwich for full current specifications and pricing.

What the Test Drive Actually Reveals

Alfa Romeo communicates things through the steering and the chassis that spec sheets do not capture. The weight of the steering on the Giulia at highway speeds is calibrated differently from any German competitor at the same price point. The Quadrifoglio exhaust note through the dual-mode system at full acceleration has a character that turbocharged four-cylinder alternatives simply do not produce. And the Stelvio Quadrifoglio through an on-ramp at full commitment behaves more like a sport sedan that happens to have more ground clearance than a conventional SUV with its weight shifted onto the axles.

These are driving qualities that exist on the road rather than in a brochure. They are also the qualities that tend to convert curious visitors into buyers, not because the dealership sells them but because the car explains itself.

If a person writes a check without sufficient funds in an associated account to cover it, the check will bounce, or be returned for insufficient funds. Each state has laws regulating how merchants may respond to bounced checks. In Connecticut, the merchant may file a civil suit and press criminal charges if the check writer does not reimburse him for a bounced check after the merchant has sent several notices regarding the matter.

Posted Notice Requirement

Merchants and other business owners who accept checks must post a notice where customers are likely to see it warning them of the potential consequences of writing bad checks. The notice must include the civil penalties that bad check writers may face, the appropriate Connecticut statute number and an advisory that the check writer may also face criminal penalties

Civil and Criminal Penalties

As of 2010, civil courts may require the check writer to reimburse the merchant for the value of the check plus pay up to $750 if he has no back account or $400 if the check is returned for insufficient funds. If the merchant chooses to press criminal charges, the bad check writer may face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to one year in jail. Writing a bad check is a felony charge if the check was for more than $1,000 and a misdemeanor if written for a lesser amount.

Required Written Notices

If a check bounces, the merchant must send the check writer a letter by certified mail at the check writer's last known address or place of business. Usually this letter is sent to the address on the writer's check. The letter must inform the writer that the check was returned ask him to reimburse the merchant for the amount of the check and inform him of the potential criminal or civil penalties if he fails to do so. If the check writers does not respond to the letter within 15 days of receipt, the merchant must send a second letter. This letter must inform the check writer that he has 30 days to reimburse the merchant before the merchant takes legal action against him. Both letters must be written in both English and Spanish.
